# Amplitude Integration (Alpha)

> Connect BuildBetter with Amplitude to merge product usage data with customer conversation insights

Connect BuildBetter with Amplitude to combine quantitative product analytics with qualitative customer conversations, creating a complete picture of user behavior and feedback.

## Setup Guide

### Prerequisites

1. Amplitude Requirements:
   * Amplitude account (Growth plan or higher recommended)
   * Admin access for API key generation
   * Schema configuration permissions

2. BuildBetter Requirements:
   * Active BuildBetter account
   * Admin privileges for integration setup

### Installation Steps

1. **Connect Amplitude**
   * Go to Settings > Integrations in BuildBetter
   * Click "Connect" under Amplitude
   * Enter your Amplitude API key and secret
   * Configure project mapping

2. **Configure Data Flow**
   * Set up user identification mapping
   * Define which BuildBetter events to send to Amplitude
   * Configure property mappings
   * Set up cohort synchronization

3. **Test Integration**
   * Generate test events
   * Verify data appears in Amplitude
   * Check user property enrichment

## Usage

### Tracking Conversation Insights

BuildBetter can track these conversation elements as Amplitude events:

* Feature requests
* Sentiment changes
* Competition mentions
* Product feedback
* Custom defined signals

### User Cohort Creation

Create Amplitude cohorts based on:

* Topics discussed in calls
* Feature requests made
* Product areas mentioned
* Sentiment expressed

### Enhanced Analytics

Use combined data for:

* Correlating feedback with actual usage
* Understanding which features need improvement
* Identifying power users for targeted interviews
* Measuring impact of customer calls on retention
