# FullStory Integration (Alpha)

> Connect BuildBetter with FullStory for comprehensive session recording and analytics

Integrate BuildBetter with FullStory to capture detailed session recordings, analyze user behavior, and gain insights into how users interact with your BuildBetter workspace.

## Setup Instructions

### Prerequisites

* An active BuildBetter account
* A FullStory account with organization ID
* Admin access to BuildBetter

### Connecting FullStory

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations** in your BuildBetter dashboard
2. Select **FullStory** from the analytics integrations
3. Enter your FullStory organization ID
4. Configure privacy settings (what to record/not record)
5. Click **Connect** to activate the integration

### Privacy Configuration

For proper data privacy:

1. Go to the **Privacy Settings** tab
2. Configure which elements should be masked:
   * User emails (recommended)
   * Chat content (optional)
   * Call summaries (optional)
   * Document content (optional)
3. Save your privacy settings

## Usage

### Identifying Users

When a user logs into BuildBetter, they're automatically identified in FullStory with:

* User ID
* Email
* Name
* Organization name
* Subscription tier
* Account creation date

### Tracked Events

The integration automatically tracks these events in FullStory:

| Event                 | Description                     |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| `Recording Started`   | When a call recording begins    |
| `Recording Completed` | When a call recording finishes  |
| `Summary Generated`   | When an AI summary is created   |
| `Document Created`    | When a document is generated    |
| `Chat Interaction`    | When using the AI chat feature  |
| `Error Encountered`   | When a user encounters an error |
| `Search Performed`    | When a search is executed       |

### Viewing Session Recordings

To analyze user sessions:

1. Log in to your FullStory dashboard
2. Use search to filter for BuildBetter sessions
3. Click on any session to view the complete recording
4. Use the event timeline to jump to specific actions

## Advanced Features

### Correlating FullStory Data

You can correlate FullStory data with your internal metrics:

1. Use the FullStory segment builder to create user segments
2. Export segment data via API
3. Combine with your BuildBetter usage data for deeper insights

### Feedback Loop Integration

Set up a feedback loop with your users:

1. Configure FullStory's feedback capture
2. Map feedback to specific BuildBetter features
3. Prioritize improvements based on session context

## Troubleshooting

### Recording Not Working

* Verify your FullStory organization ID is correct
* Check for any content security policies blocking FullStory
* Ensure there are no ad blockers or privacy extensions active

### Privacy Concerns

* Review and update the privacy settings in the integration
* Ensure sensitive information is properly masked
* Consider informing users about session recording via a privacy policy
