# Coda Integration (Alpha)

> Connect BuildBetter with Coda for powerful documentation and workflow automation

BuildBetter's Coda integration enables you to export meeting transcripts, summaries, and documents to Coda, where you can transform meeting insights into interactive documents, trackers, and automated workflows.

## Setup Instructions

### Prerequisites

* An active BuildBetter account
* Coda account with appropriate permissions
* API token for Coda

### Connecting Coda

1. Navigate to **Settings → Integrations** in your BuildBetter dashboard
2. Select **Coda** from the documentation integrations
3. Enter your Coda API token
4. Choose which workspaces to connect
5. Configure default access permissions
6. Click **Connect** to activate the integration

### Configuring Export Settings

After connecting:

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Coda → Export Settings**
2. Configure your preferences:
   * Default export doc or folder
   * Default formatting options
   * Table structure for action items and decisions
   * Include metadata options
3. Save your configuration

## Usage

### Exporting to Coda

Export BuildBetter content to Coda:

1. Open any document, transcript, or summary in BuildBetter
2. Click the **Export** button
3. Select **Coda** as the destination
4. Choose export options:
   * Target Coda doc
   * Content structure (tables, sections, or both)
   * Access permissions
5. Click **Export** to send to Coda

### Creating Meeting Docs

Create interactive meeting documentation:

1. After a recorded meeting, click **Export to Coda**
2. Choose a template:
   * Meeting minutes
   * Project update
   * Customer interview
   * Decision log
3. Customize the export structure
4. Click **Create** to generate the Coda doc

### Action Item Tracking

Convert meeting action items to Coda tasks:

1. From any meeting with extracted action items
2. Click **Export → Action Items → Coda**
3. Choose format options:
   * Create new table or add to existing
   * Include assignees, due dates, and context
   * Set up status tracking
4. Export to create an interactive action item tracker

## Advanced Features

### Custom Templates

Create and use customized Coda templates:

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Coda → Templates**
2. Create new templates with predefined:
   * Table structures
   * Formula relationships
   * Automation triggers
   * Cross-doc connections
3. Use these templates when exporting to Coda

### Data Syncing

Keep BuildBetter data synchronized with Coda:

1. Enable the **Sync** option when exporting
2. Choose sync frequency (manual, daily, or on changes)
3. Select which data elements should stay in sync
4. BuildBetter will automatically update your Coda doc when source content changes

### Meeting Packs

Create comprehensive meeting documentation packages:

1. Select multiple related meetings in BuildBetter
2. Click **Create Coda Meeting Pack**
3. Choose what to include:
   * Meeting summaries
   * Key insights across meetings
   * Action item tracking
   * Decision history
4. Generate a connected set of Coda docs for complete project documentation

## Troubleshooting

### Connection Issues

* Verify your Coda API token is valid
* Check permissions for the target Coda docs
* Re-authenticate if the connection has expired

### Export Problems

* Check for size limitations on large exports
* Verify you have editor permissions in target docs
* Ensure all required tables exist for appending data

### Formatting Issues

* Review Coda format compatibility for complex content
* Check for special characters or formatting that might not transfer
* Use simpler structure for more reliable exports
