# Confluence Integration (Alpha)

> Connect BuildBetter with Confluence for seamless documentation and knowledge management

BuildBetter's Confluence integration allows you to export meeting transcripts, summaries, and documents directly to Atlassian Confluence, creating a seamless knowledge management system that preserves context from your conversations.

## Setup Instructions

### Prerequisites

* An active BuildBetter account
* Atlassian Confluence instance (Cloud or Server)
* Admin access to relevant Confluence spaces
* Atlassian API token

### Connecting Confluence

1. Navigate to **Settings → Integrations** in your BuildBetter dashboard
2. Select **Confluence** from the documentation integrations
3. Enter your Atlassian instance URL (e.g., `https://yourcompany.atlassian.net`)
4. Provide your Atlassian API token
5. Complete the authorization process
6. Configure default spaces and access permissions

### Configuring Export Settings

After connecting:

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Confluence → Export Settings**
2. Configure your preferences:
   * Default Confluence space
   * Page hierarchies and structure
   * Content formatting options
   * Default labels and metadata
   * Template selections
3. Save your configuration

## Usage

### Exporting to Confluence

Export content from BuildBetter to Confluence:

1. Open any document, transcript, or summary in BuildBetter
2. Click the **Export** button
3. Select **Confluence** as the destination
4. Configure export options:
   * Target space and parent page
   * Page title and structure
   * Labels and permissions
5. Click **Export** to create the Confluence page

### Creating Meeting Documentation

Generate meeting documentation in Confluence:

1. After a recorded meeting, click **Export to Confluence**
2. Choose a documentation template:
   * Standard meeting minutes
   * Decision document
   * Project update
   * Customer interview
3. Customize the page structure and content sections
4. Click **Create** to generate the Confluence page

### Action Item Tracking

Convert meeting action items to Confluence tasks:

1. From any meeting with extracted action items
2. Click **Export → Action Items → Confluence**
3. Choose format options:
   * Create tasks in Confluence
   * Add due dates and assignees
   * Link back to source recording
4. Export to create the action items in Confluence

## Advanced Features

### Template Management

Create and use custom Confluence templates:

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Confluence → Templates**
2. Create new templates or modify existing ones
3. Define page structure, macros, and sections
4. Apply templates when exporting content to Confluence

### Page Hierarchy

Create structured documentation hierarchies:

1. Select multiple related recordings or documents
2. Click **Export to Confluence Hierarchy**
3. Define the page structure relationship
4. Set parent/child relationships between pages
5. Export to create an organized documentation structure

### Content Synchronization

Keep Confluence pages updated with BuildBetter content:

1. Enable the **Sync** option when exporting
2. Choose which elements should stay synchronized
3. Set sync frequency (manual or automatic)
4. Confluence content will update when source content changes
