The BuildBetter Asana integration allows you to create tasks, projects, and goals directly from your meeting recordings, helping you turn conversations into actionable work items in your Asana workspace.

Setup Instructions

Prerequisites

  • An active BuildBetter account
  • Asana account with appropriate workspace access
  • Admin permissions in BuildBetter

Connecting Asana

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your BuildBetter dashboard
  2. Select Asana from the project integrations section
  3. Click Connect and authorize via Asana OAuth
  4. Select which workspaces to enable for integration
  5. Configure default settings and permissions

Configuring Asana Settings

After connecting:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Asana → Configuration
  2. Configure:
    • Default workspace
    • Default projects
    • Task field mappings
    • Default sections and tags
  3. Save your configuration

Usage

Creating Tasks from Meetings

Create Asana tasks during or after meetings:

  1. Open any recording in BuildBetter
  2. Select a relevant segment in the transcript
  3. Click the Create Task button
  4. Select the Asana workspace and project
  5. Fill in task details, leveraging the selected transcript context
  6. Submit to create the task in Asana

Linking to Projects

Connect meeting content to Asana projects:

  1. From a recording or document, click Link to Project
  2. Search for and select the relevant Asana project
  3. Add a reference note (optional)
  4. Save to establish the connection

Automated Action Items

Extract action items as Asana tasks:

  1. Go to a completed meeting recording
  2. Navigate to the Action Items tab
  3. Review automatically extracted action items
  4. Select items to create as Asana tasks
  5. Assign owners and due dates
  6. Submit to create the tasks in Asana

Advanced Features

Custom Workflows

Create automation rules between BuildBetter and Asana:

  1. Go to Settings → Automation Rules
  2. Create rules based on:
    • Meeting tags or topics
    • Specific phrases in transcripts
    • Meeting participants or roles

  4. Enable the automation rule

Bulk Task Creation

Create multiple Asana tasks at once:

  1. Open a meeting recording with a completed transcript
  2. Select multiple segments or use the AI-detected action items
  3. Click Create Multiple Tasks
  4. Review and edit the task details
  5. Select target project and assignees
  6. Submit to create all tasks in Asana
