Setup Instructions

Prerequisites

• An active BuildBetter account
• Jira Cloud (or Jira Server with API access)
• Admin permissions in both BuildBetter and Jira

Connecting Jira

1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your BuildBetter dashboard
2. Select Jira from the project integrations section
3. Enter your Jira instance URL (e.g., https://yourcompany.atlassian.net)
4. Click Connect and complete the Atlassian authentication process
5. Grant necessary permissions for BuildBetter

Configuring Jira Settings

1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Jira → Project Settings
2. Configure:
   • Default Jira project
   • Issue type mappings
   • Field mappings (for automatic population)
   • Default labels and components
3. Save your configuration

Usage

​

Creating Issues from Meetings

1. Open any recording in BuildBetter
2. Select a relevant segment in the transcript
3. Click the Create Issue button in the actions menu
4. Choose the Jira project and issue type
5. Add additional details or customize fields
6. Submit to create the issue in Jira

Action Item Extraction

1. Go to a meeting recording with a completed transcript
2. Navigate to the Action Items tab
3. Review the automatically extracted action items
4. Select items to create as Jira issues
5. Adjust details if needed and submit

Linking Existing Issues

1. Open any recording or document in BuildBetter
2. Click the Link Issue button
3. Search for existing Jira issues by key or title
4. Select the appropriate issue
5. Choose what content to reference (whole meeting, clip, or segment)
6. Save the link to connect BuildBetter to Jira

Advanced Features

Custom Workflows

1. Go to Settings → Automation Rules
2. Create rules for automatic issue creation based on:
   • Meeting tags or topics
   • Specific phrases in transcripts
   • Meeting types or participants
3. Configure how issues should be populated
4. Enable and test your automated workflow

Field Mapping

1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Jira → Field Mapping
2. Configure mappings for:
   • Standard Jira fields (summary, description, etc.)
   • Custom fields specific to your Jira instance
