BuildBetter’s Jira integration enables you to create, link, and update Jira issues directly from your meeting recordings, automating your workflow from customer conversations to actionable tasks.

Setup Instructions
Prerequisites
- An active BuildBetter account
- Jira Cloud (or Jira Server with API access)
- Admin permissions in both BuildBetter and Jira
Connecting Jira
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your BuildBetter dashboard
- Select Jira from the project integrations section
- Enter your Jira instance URL (e.g.,
https://yourcompany.atlassian.net
) - Click Connect and complete the Atlassian authentication process
- Grant necessary permissions for BuildBetter
Configuring Jira Settings
After connecting:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Jira → Project Settings
- Configure:
- Default Jira project
- Issue type mappings
- Field mappings (for automatic population)
- Default labels and components
- Save your configuration
Usage
Creating Issues from Meetings
Create Jira issues while reviewing a meeting:
- Open any recording in BuildBetter
- Select a relevant segment in the transcript
- Click the Create Issue button in the actions menu
- Choose the Jira project and issue type
- Add additional details or customize fields
- Submit to create the issue in Jira
Action Item Extraction
Automatically identify action items:
- Go to a meeting recording with a completed transcript
- Navigate to the Action Items tab
- Review the automatically extracted action items
- Select items to create as Jira issues
- Adjust details if needed and submit
Linking Existing Issues
Connect meetings to existing Jira issues:
- Open any recording or document in BuildBetter
- Click the Link Issue button
- Search for existing Jira issues by key or title
- Select the appropriate issue
- Choose what content to reference (whole meeting, clip, or segment)
- Save the link to connect BuildBetter to Jira
Advanced Features
Custom Workflows
Create automated workflows between BuildBetter and Jira:
- Go to Settings → Automation Rules
- Create rules for automatic issue creation based on:
- Meeting tags or topics
- Specific phrases in transcripts
- Meeting types or participants
- Configure how issues should be populated
- Enable and test your automated workflow
Field Mapping
Map BuildBetter data to custom Jira fields:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Jira → Field Mapping
